Welcome to OCB Geotechnical

OCB Geotechnical Ltd. is a site investigation / geotechnical survey company established in January 2016. While the company is young it’s staff have many years experience in ground investigation and a wealth of geotechnical engineering knowledge.

OCB offer a wide range of services to suit our clients needs in an efficient and economical manner. We strive to complete all projects in a timely manner, providing innovative geotechnical solutions with open communication with clients throughout the process.

OCB work with a wide range of clients large and small. Our clients include Developers, Architects, Local Authorities, Consulting Engineers and Industrial Companies.

What we do

cp1
Cable Percussion Drilling

Useful for almost all site investigation projects, Cable Percussion Boreholes are a pivotal method of Site Investigation in order to gather information on overburden strata down to bedrock level.

site-investigation
Site investigation

Geotechnical Site Investigations are used to gather information on the properties of the soil and rock below ground. This geotechnical information can be used to inform the design of foundations and earthworks for proposed structures etc

sec3
Rotary Drilling

Rotary Drilling techniques are used where boreholes are required to penetrate through very stiff or very dense soils or into bedrock. Rotary Coring allows for lengths of rock core to be extracted and geotechnically logged and tested.

sec4
Trial Pitting

Trial Pit excavations determine the soil/strata profile, typically up to 4.5m depth, and allow for bulk soil sampling and testing.

reporting

Reporting:

Results of our site investigations may be presented as either factual or interpretative reports with recommendations relating to both geotechnical and environmental considerations per the Client’s instructions.

The data is presented in accordance with the guidelines of Eurocode 7 Geotechnical Design, and is also as standard presented electronically in standard AGS format.

We liaise closely with Clients to ensure that every report fulfils the requirements they lay out and the scope of the job. OCB aim to maintain clear communication with the Client throughout the project duration and at every stage of fieldwork, testing and reporting to ensure all the clients requirements are met and they are kept up to date with the status of the job as it progresses. All reports are prepared by an experienced and suitably qualified Geotechnical Engineer, and are subject to a review process before final approval is granted
